About the Role As a highly skilled and experienced Fuels Expert, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Chemical & Process Analysis Division. This exciting opportunity allows you to lead and guide fuel-related activities within the group, leveraging your expertise in operational support, problem-solving, and analytical techniques. We are seeking an exceptional professional who can demonstrate a deep understanding of fuel regulations, their implications, and the ability to apply this knowledge to drive meaningful results. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with research, operation, and engineering entities to expand the existing range of support offered for fuel and additive testing. - Identify gaps within the Group's existing capabilities and provide recommendations for addressing those needs. - Develop effective approaches to ensuring optimum support is provided by the Research and Analytical Services Departments. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing new analytical methods for non-routine tests and assessments to providing technical expertise and/or analytical support for ongoing fuel research projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Engage with research, operation, and engineering entities to support and expand the existing range of support offered for fuel and additive testing. 2. Identify gaps within the Group's existing capabilities and provide recommendations for addressing those needs. 3. Develop effective approaches to ensuring optimum support is provided by the Research and Analytical Services Departments. 4. Support ongoing fuel research projects within by providing technical expertise and/or analytical support. 5. Develop new analytical methods for non-routine tests and assessments to meet operational and research needs. 6. Carry out investigative studies in matters related to fuel quality concerns and in support of both production and operational issues. Requirements 1. A Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with an advanced degree preferred. 2. Minimum 15 years' experience in the development, testing and evaluation of transportation fuels and their components, including fuel additives. 3. Comprehensive knowledge of the impact of fuel quality at all stages, from refinery production to consumption by the end user. 4. Recognized industry expert on hydrocarbon fuels, including: quality monitoring, specifications and evaluation.
