Job Description At Goodwill Industries, our mission is to help people become independent through education and training leading to employment. Key Responsibilities - Maintain a strong work ethic to manage a high-volume retail variety store. - Encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer/donor relationship to enhance profitability. - Establish positive relationships with clients and associates to implement Goodwill's mission services. Detailed Responsibilities 1. Assist store managers in developing and operating assigned stores to maximize retail market share and donations. 2. Work under supervision of Retail Store Manager to learn all functions of operating a retail store. 3. Relieve manager on holidays, sick leave, etc., and act as manager in absence after 30-day training period. 4. Supervise associates and clients in day-to-day operations of a retail variety store in manager's absence. 5. Audit cash register transactions, validate payment methods, balance cash drawers, and prepare daily reports. 6. Maintain monthly inventories, make daily bank deposits, and reconcile sales receipts. 7. Merchandise displays, coordinate sales promotion activities, and ensure production exceeds expectations. 8. Process, stock, merchandise, colorize, size, tag, barb, and date merchandise. 9. Perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as scheduled. 10. Attend training and meetings as scheduled. 11. Ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures. 12. Assist at other locations as needed. 13. Maximize growth of the location by working with the entire store team. 14. Adhere to attendance policies and LP policies and procedures. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Two to three years of retail experience or relevant field experience highly preferred. - Exemplary management skills including planning, organizing, scheduling, directing, merchandising, training, recruiting, and customer service. - Valid driver's license highly preferred and may be required in specific locations. Physical Requirements Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. Safety & Security Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy. Work Hours As assigned by store location. Must be flexible to meet changing needs of the store to cover absences within the location. Work Attire Present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance reflective of Goodwill's positive image in the community. Adhere to dress code, including wearing name badge at all times.
