Hiring Department Advancement Job Description Join the Office of Advancement as an Advancement Records Specialist. Collaborate with a dynamic team to receive, prepare, and process gifts, and maintain a donor database in Advance CRM. Be part of a team-oriented culture within the Office of Advancement. Responsibilities include recording gifts and donor biographical information as assigned. Gift Processing: Understand university gift acceptance policies. Follow IRS charitable giving guidelines. Adhere to proper cash handling and fiscal procedures. Receive, prepare, and process gifts from donors. Prepare checks/cash for deposit into the university bank account. Enter gift data into Advance CRM and produce receipts. Process requests for MU license plate use authorization and prepare renewal reminder cards/letters. Provide customer service in person, via email, and over the phone regarding gift activity. Assist with daily gift mail. Other Duties: Identify and escalate issues to supervisor. Communicate professionally and promptly with donors and unit representatives regarding gifts, pledges, and inquiries. Handle sensitive materials securely. Shift M-F 8am-5pm. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent education and experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications High accuracy and attention to detail. Research skills and policy awareness. Experience with data entry, document imaging, and spreadsheets. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
