Job Title: Legal Counsel - Uruguay Regional Office Main Purpose: To provide and procure legal services across the entire portfolio of Trafigura's commercial activities, including the trading of physically and financially settled oil and its by-products, minerals and metals, coal and power, supporting all business areas in different jurisdictions from the Montevideo regional hub, providing corporate, contentious and regulatory advice. About the Role: This position is based in Montevideo, Uruguay. Relocation is required and covered by the company. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal assistance to various business units. - Manage legal risks and keep the company informed on a real-time basis. - Instruct, manage and supervise external legal resources. - Advise on various agreements, regulations and joint venture arrangements. - Plan and deliver training to regional staff on legal issues. - Assist during disputes, including investigation, mediation, arbitration, litigation and enforcement. Requirements: - Licence to practice law in at least two (2) of the following areas: trading, finance, M&A;, corporate, regulatory and litigation. - 7-10 years of post-qualification experience. - English and Spanish language essential. - Portuguese language desirable. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
