JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineering Manager R&D; JOBSUMMARY The Electrical Engineering Manager leads a skilledelectrical engineering team at our strategic Costa Rica R&DCenter; of Excellence, ensuring technical excellence across ouradvanced medical device portfolio. This role combines technicaloversight with effective team management as you build your teamfrom the ground up and guide both engineering performance andprofessional development. Reporting to the Head of R&D;, CostaRica, with a dotted line to the Senior Manager of Global ElectricalEngineering, you'll establish electrical engineering as a keydiscipline in our newest R&D; hub. Your experience will bevaluable in building and strengthening team capabilities,delivering quality across sustaining programs, and identifyingopportunities to enhance our life-saving technologies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES -Establish and grow the electrical engineering team from the groundup, while implementing best practices and fostering a culture oftechnical excellence - Spearhead electrical engineering effortsacross sustaining and continuous improvement projects that enhanceour medical device portfolio - Drive functional excellence withinthe Electrical Engineering Team, establishing best practices andfostering continuous improvement utilizing design controls - Mentorand develop electrical engineers through technical guidance, careerpathing, and performance management - Lead the recruitment andselection process to build a world-class electrical engineeringteam with diverse technical capabilities - Partner with otherengineering disciplines and cross-functional teams to ensureintegrated approaches to technical challenges - Oversee multipleconcurrent sustaining R&D; initiatives, managing priorities,resources, and timelines - Maintain strict adherence to medicaldevice industry regulations and quality standards across allengineering activities - Effectively manage project budgets andresources to maximize team efficiency and output - Develop andmaintain relationships with key vendors and technology partners toenhance team capabilities - Present technical information andproject status with clarity to senior management and stakeholders -Coordinate strategies, practices, and execution with the productdesign and development team in Denver, Colorado to ensureconsistency across sites MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation Bachelor or Master of Science degree in ElectricalEngineering is required Experience - Minimum of 7 years ofexperience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus onmedical device development - At least 3 years of experience in asupervisory or management capacity within the medical technologyindustry - Proven track record of successfully leading complexelectrical engineering projects for medical devices - Demonstratedexperience with global regulatory requirements in the medicaldevice industry Skills - Proven leadership experience building andmanaging high-performing engineering teams in a multi-projectenvironment - Advanced problem-solving and analytical skillsspecifically applied to medical device challenges - Comprehensiveknowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, andstandards essential to medical technology development - Expertisewith electrical design and PLM software used in medical devicedevelopment, preferably with Altium and Windchill - Demonstratedproject management capabilities with a track record of successfullybalancing competing priorities - Superior English communicationskills for articulating complex technical concepts to diverseaudiences including senior management - Adaptability and resiliencein fast-paced environments typical of innovative medical technologycompanies - Strategic decision-making abilities, particularly whennavigating complex regulatory requirements and technical trade-offs - Thorough understanding of medical device industry regulations andstandards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601) - Experience managingengineering budgets and allocating resources effectively acrossmultiple projects - Success working with geographically-dispersedengineering teams across multiple locations -Or - An equivalentcompetency level acquired through a variation of thesequalifications may be considered.
