Accountabilities Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. The candidate for this position will primarily work on migrating an application developed in Cordova to SwiftUI, supported by a software lead. This position will also support other applications in the development phase, as well as maintain the current Cordova-based application. Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories. Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios, developing automated tests, and reviewing code coverage and static analysis reports. Ability to work collaboratively with peers or individually, as required by the User Story. Ensure deliverables meet architectural and coding expectations, leveraging modern language features and functional programming styles. Work in a dynamic environment where priorities can change; adapt and pivot between multiple competing priorities. Contribute to reviews of pull requests created by peers. Proactively monitor application environments with available tools, notify the team of issues, and contribute to resolving them. Identify and create awareness of opportunities to modernize technology and automate processes, offering solutions for these opportunities. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture should be incorporated into daily activities and decisions. Ensure effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, maintaining adequate business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations. Education / Experience / Other Information Solid English communication skills, both oral and written (minimum B1), comfortable in an English work environment. 3+ years experience as an iOS Software Engineer is required. Experience or solid knowledge of Cordova is required. Experience with Angular, MVVM, XCTest, Xcode, VS Code, git, and gitflow. Proficiency with Swift, SwiftUI, and Combine, following industry best practices. Familiarity with fastlane, refactoring, CI/CD, Jenkins, and working on multiple initiatives concurrently. Experience working remotely in distributed project teams. Experience in banking or financial industry is an asset. Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
