As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Data Migration Engineer to help us move our clients from legacy systems to our modern platforms. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working with clients, and writing clean, scalable code. What will you do? Develop and maintain Python scripts to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from legacy client systems into AffiniPay platforms. Design and execute robust data transformation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity during migration. Work with clients to assist with data extraction and explain how the information was migrated and where it resides in the new system. Working with internal teams to plan and execute migrations, managing tickets in Jira and contributing to the shared code repository on Git . Participate in daily standups and periodic client meetings to provide updates and resolve data-related challenges. Diagnose data issues and optimize migration process performance. About you Professional experience : More than 3 years of experience working with Python in production environments. Technical knowledge : Extensive experience in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server , and mastery in writing complex queries. Data transformation skills: data mapping, cleansing, normalization, and conversion. Practical knowledge in design and implementation of ETL processes. Familiarity with Git workflows and collaborative software development practices. Soft skills : Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people and clients. Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Desirable Experience with ticket management systems such as Jira . Participation in data migration projects related to fintech or legacy systems. Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure . Additional information The monthly salary range for this position is between $10,000,000 and $12,600,000 COP . This range applies to hires within Colombia and may vary if the position is filled from another country.
