Role Overview: Cuesta Partners is looking for an Engineering Manager in Latin America with an interest in consulting, to work with our broad base of clients on various engagements, ensuring the effective execution of technology projects and mentoring technical teams. As an Engineering Manager, you will oversee multiple software development projects, manage engineering resources, and ensure high-quality software and data solutions. You will also play a key role in setting technology best practices, solving complex technical challenges, and aligning engineering efforts with business goals. This role will require strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. This role is a standards-setting position designed for an individual who brings deep technical expertise and serves as a go-to resource for the development team. The role involves limited direct client interaction, with a primary focus on engineering excellence and maintaining a high-quality, scalable codebase. While the role is remote, occasional though infrequent travel to the United States may be required for some critical sessions. What We're Looking For: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 8+ years of prior experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. - Strong background in software development, AI, or data engineering. - Experience managing engineering teams and leading projects in an agile environment. - Deep understanding of software development cycles and best practices. - Experience with modern software development frameworks and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a technical team. - Effective communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders. What You'll Do: - Act as a technical leader across multiple projects, ensuring seamless execution and delivery. - Establish best practices for software development, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions. - Collaborate with product managers to integrate requirements and align development efforts. - Allocate and manage engineering resources effectively to optimize project success. - Provide technical mentorship to developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. - Solve complex engineering problems, ensuring high-quality software and data solutions. - Work closely with AI, data, and software development teams to align technical solutions with business goals. - Lead architectural discussions, providing insights into design decisions and trade-offs. - Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies, driving efficiency and innovation within the engineering team. If you're passionate about leading engineering teams and driving high-quality solutions, we'd love to hear from you!
