This key role will help ensure the smooth integration of color, quality, and regulatory data into Axalta's color modeling toolbox and coatings database, enabling the efficient and accurate operation of global color development processes.The Color Systems technician plays an essential role in supporting the integration of color, quality, and regulatory data into Axalta's color modeling and coatings databases. This position will work closely with other teams, including Color Development, Manufacturing, IT, and R&D;, to ensure that the systems are operating efficiently and that all color and formulation data is accurate. This is a hands-on role that involves testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining databases and systems that are critical to Axalta's global operations.Key Responsibilities:Support Cross-Functional Teams: Assist in translating color formulation and balancing rules into functional data formats for Axalta's color modeling toolbox and coatings database.Formula Modifications: Help Color Marketing teams by ensuring that requested formula and ingredient modifications are completed on time and in-line with project timelines.System Support: Assist IT teams with identifying and addressing new software requirements, providing hands-on support as needed.Coordinate with Gatekeepers: Work with regional and local gatekeepers to manage new logic requests and ensure resource utilization is maximized across sites.Testing and Validation: Set up and run test data to validate the functionality of the color modeling toolbox and coatings database, ensuring accurate results for automated processes.Installation Assistance: Support the installation of Axalta software and hardware tools, including the setup and calibration of color measurement devices and related equipment.Formulation Database Maintenance: Assist with maintaining the formulation database, ensuring that new and existing product lines have accurate, validated color formulas.Training Support: Help train team members on system usage and best practices for color modeling and database management.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the paint and coatings industry, including formulation, production, and color development cycles.Experience: Previous experience in a technical or laboratory environment, preferably in the coatings or color science industry.Technical Skills: Basic understanding of data management systems, as well as color measurement and analysis tools.Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot technical issues and assist with performance improvements in systems and processes.Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with various teams and documenting processesOur Company:Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions.
