Find out more on our website: www.laing.com THE ROLE AND OPPORTUNITY As an Associate, you will play a vital role in providing quantative analysis, modelling support, completing valuations and performance reporting, and working alongside the wider team on complex initiatives and transactions within the company’s assets in Colombia. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assessing complex infrastructure projects, such as transportation and energy transition, within a rapidly evolving market. You will work closely with asset management and investments colleagues to analyse asset performance, evaluate market risks, and contribute to long-term investment strategies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Asset Management: Monitor and evaluate asset performance, ensuring adherence to internal valuation controls and processes. Coordinate annually with external auditors and third-party valuation firms to support accurate and compliant valuations. Assist the Asset Management Director and Head of Valuations in preparing detailed valuation reports and presentations for key stakeholders, including the Portfolio Review & Valuations Committee, Investment Committee, CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors. Track and analyse the performance of existing investments, identifying significant trends and potential risks. Support portfolio companies and their management teams with financial analysis, capital structuring, refinancing, and bolt-on acquisition assessments. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with portfolio companies and their leadership. Perform detailed financial modelling, scenario analysis, and valuation methodology updates in line with John Laing standards, collaborating with third parties to validate asset values. Apply various valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, to conduct regular valuations of the John Laing asset portfolio. New Investments: Provide support to Investment deal teams on an occasional basis and as required on new investment opportunities within LATAM and North America. Client and Co-Shareholder Interaction: Support senior team members in managing client and co-shareholder relationships and responding to inquiries. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments to ensure the smooth execution of investment strategies. Collaborate with John Laing colleagues in other markets to support their market entry or participation activities. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or similar. Experience in infrastructure investment management or related area, typically 3-5 years. Strong analytical and financial modelling skills. Excellent written communication and report writing skills Refined interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Timely and reliable reporting Strong project management skills Preferred: Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with infrastructure investments.
