The position is a strategic member of the International Regulatory Reporting team (Latam Cluster). Responsible to support countries in the elaboration, validation, and submission of local regulatory reports with accuracy and in a timely manner to the Local Finance team for the final review and submission to regulators The position will report to the International Regulatory Reporting team, and interacts with Country Controllers, GFT, Centralized teams (former FRSS), and Controls teams in Latin America. A key component of this role is the participation in the definition of best practices, standardizations, and process simplification The role involves understanding local statutory regulations provided by the Local Regulators, Business Analyst and Country controllers, and ensuring the results for each one is aligned with the local reporting standards. If results are not aligned with expectations, additional analysis and collaborative work is required to resolve the errors / data quality issues affecting the integrity of the reports results. In addition, some reports, and processes to calculate/generate them could be complex and requires an understanding of local regulations. The owner of this position must apply its knowledge to understand the best way to apply the Report rules, and impact all reports affected by the changes in a straightforward way, avoiding additional workarounds or manual adjustments. It is important to add that some regulators and businesses require changes in a very short period which makes the role to take fast decisions under stressful circumstances. This role is critical in ensuring proper accountability of results in line with business and finance needs which misreporting could lead in fines and penalties by regulators Responsibilities - Execution and validations of regulatory reports - Perform analysis of existing regulatory reporting processes and solutions - Understand requirements and challenges from reporting teams - Review and understand local regulatory report requirements and its interpretation - Providing support to country Finance teams on an ad-hoc basis (e.g. audits, regulatory inquiries, reports centralization, etc) - Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines & professional standards - Decompose the local regulatory report forms / schedule to identify critical information / data and its expected values - Optimization of reports and process improvements through digital tools - Understand and implement controls applicable to regulatory reports - Work with a team to ensure timely and accurate submission of the reports - Partnership with Local Controllers to address issues and proposed improvement solutions Knowledge and Experience: - 5-8 years of work experience in accounting (IFRS, Local or US GAAP) financial reporting/auditing role - University/College degree in Finance/Accounting is preferred - Regulatory Reporting experience - Ability to lead teams and people oriented - Ability to work professionally and communicate effectively with local country teams, LRR (Local Regulatory Reporting) Business Analyst and country controllers - Pay attention to details and work under pressure - Analytical skills - Sense of urgency - Controls oriented - Strategic Thinking - Creativity - Efficient and effective time management - Verbal and written English (intermediate-advanced) - Advanced MS Excel knowledge is mandatory - Familiarity with advanced data tools (e.g. KNIME, Power BI, etc.) is an advantage, preferred ------------------------------------------------------ Job Family Group: Finance ------------------------------------------------------ Job Family: Regulatory Reporting ------------------------------------------------------ Time Type: Full time ------------------------------------------------------ Citi is an equal opportunity employer, and qualified candidates will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law.
