Purpose: This Inside Technical Sales role will generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding and interpreting technical requirements, providing technical information, and developing accounts. This customer-facing sales position involves reselling mechanical engineering technology and managing the sales process from start to finish. Major Roles and Responsibilities: Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identify sales opportunities. Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; solicit new accounts; build rapport; provide technical information and explanations; prepare quotations. Close new accounts by responding to inquiries via telephone, fax, and email; verify and enter information into CRM to support account development and business forecasting. Process orders by coordinating with fulfillment; communicate expected delivery dates; explain stock-outs. Develop accounts by reviewing customer buying history; suggest related and new items; explain technical features; maintain regular communication with assigned accounts. Update product knowledge by studying new descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.
