Hiring Department The University of Missouri School of Medicine Department of Dermatology Job Description The University of Missouri Department of Dermatology is seeking a part-time Medical Scribe to work primarily at our Jefferson City location. The Department of Dermatology is dedicated to providing the highest quality dermatologic care for citizens of central and rural Missouri and beyond. Primary Responsibilities: Accompany physicians during patient exams to transcribe history of present illness and document the encounter with precision. Communicate effectively with physicians, asking questions when necessary for accurate and complete visit notes. Document diagnosis, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed by the physician. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc. Chart provider and patient encounters in real-time, ensuring accuracy and detail. Accurately document dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy. Collaborate with dermatologists, nurses, and other medical staff for thorough patient documentation. Prior medical office experience is preferred but not required. Shift Work approximately 4-8 hours a week, with clinic hours Monday through Thursday 8am - 12pm, and Monday-Tuesday 1pm - 5pm. Hours may vary based on needs. The position has Office/Admin hours, with no flexibility for alternative schedules. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or comparable education and experience. Six months experience as a Medical Scribe or related experience/training, or equivalent. Anticipated Hiring Range Hiring Range: $14.00 - $17.59 Grade: PAT-3A University Title: MEDICAL SCRIBE Internal applicants can determine their university title via the Talent Profile in myHR.
