The Role: Research Production Assistant As a member of the Equity Research business in the Research Production team, the role holder will prepare documents and presentations web pages, dissemination via third party vendors and for hard copy prints in a fast-paced, demanding and changing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be required to collaborate with various in-house support teams to serve internal clients (Analysts, Strategists, Quality Control and Research Management). The job involves varied responsibilities, from Desktop Publishing (DTP) work to administrative tasks and logistics for research distribution and conference/seminar events. Responsibilities: The responsibilities are fulfilled through close collaboration with the rest of the Research Production team. Main areas of responsibilities are: Assist in laying up / tidying up analyst reports and presentations in house style Edit and create new charts and graphics for analysts in house style Ensure in-house procedures are respected prior to document publication Cross-check relevant information in documents often in collaboration with Research Compliance Help with administrative tasks (e.g. updating databases, invoice checks vs print/distro orders etc) Handle print requests for analysts; advise on cost efficiency Test new IT publication tools and suggesting improvements Operate predominately autonomously, under general supervision, exercising sound judgement on when to escalate more complex issues to more senior team members. Maintain open communication with the team and direct line management to support them with the completion of projects and collaborates effectively with internal stakeholders across the broader equities business. Profile: For this role within Global Cash Equities, applicants should have the following knowledge, skill and experience: Relevant Bachelor’s degree required. Professional qualification, or suitable extensive experience in the relevant technical area, preferred. The successful candidate will have a “can do” attitude, be able to multi-task, follow instructions diligently and communicate efficiently. He/she will be able to learn quickly, work to tight deadlines, adapt to change and be able to work well within a team environment and on own initiative. Candidates should have a keen eye for detail and have advanced-to-expert knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables/data spreadsheets) with a creative interest as well as having the ability to work through lengthy documents. Experience of InDesign and other Adobe Suite programs would be an advantage. Candidates should also be at ease with learning new systems such as publishing workflow, client management (CRM), electronic print ordering, etc. Understanding of an equities environment and compliance regulations would be desirable but not essential. Ability to quickly adapt their behaviour, style, approach, priorities, communication or working methods according to the needs of the task, individual/group, situation, constraints and circumstances.
