Pavement Designer Civil Engineer Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pavement Designer Civil Engineer to join our team in Bogotá D.C. This role is pivotal in enhancing our technical delivery capabilities from our enterprise design center in Colombia. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to a variety of highway, urban road, and airport infrastructure projects, focusing on advanced pavement design solutions from conceptual development through detailed design stages. Responsibilities - Lead and develop pavement designs for highways, roads, street, parking areas, and airport projects from the conceptual phase through detailed design. - Perform analyses and designs for various pavement structures, including flexible, rigid, and composite pavements. - Utilize advanced software tools for pavement design and analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. - Prepare design reports, technical documentation, specifications, and quantity take-offs. - Ensure that designs comply with local and international standards as well as internal quality protocols. - Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (geometric design, drainage, structures, lighting, etc.). - Participate in technical meetings with clients and authorities for design validation and approval. - Conduct interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables, ensuring technical consistency and schedule compliance. - Supervise and provide technical support to CAD designers and modelers within the project team. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with a minimum of 6 years of proven experience in pavement design. - Advanced proficiency in pavement design software (e.g., AASHTO, FAARFIELD), software to mechanistic pavement design and analysis, and software to perform back calculation of pavement material properties. - Demonstrated experience in delivering designs up to detailed construction documentation level. - Knowledge of international and local standards for pavement design and construction (ASTM-AASHTO-FAA). - Technical management and leadership skills for pavement design activities. - Intermediate or higher level of technical English (for reading standards and specifications). Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the design of airport pavements, including runways, taxiways, and aprons. - Participation in pavement condition assessments and rehabilitation projects. - Proficiency in additional modeling and analysis software. - Specialization or master's degree in Pavement Engineering or related fields.
