Grid Connection Manager – Renewable Energy (Germany) A leading global player in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Grid Connection Manager to oversee grid integration activities for clean energy projects across Germany. This organization develops and operates a diversified portfolio of renewable energy assets including wind, solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Role Overview We are looking for an experienced professional with a solid grasp of the German grid connection landscape and technical expertise in renewable energy systems. This role will play a critical part in ensuring successful, timely, and cost-effective integration of new energy projects into the grid. Key Responsibilities - Manage the entire grid connection process for renewable energy projects across Germany. - Evaluate connection options, balancing technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and financial impact. - Prepare and submit grid connection applications and liaise with relevant authorities. - Oversee external grid consultants supporting connection efforts throughout project development. - Serve as the primary contact with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and other key stakeholders. - Identify grid-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to support project delivery timelines and budgets. - Collaborate closely with planning and project management teams to align technical requirements with development goals. - Provide progress reports and updates to internal and external stakeholders. - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with network operators. - Perform additional duties as aligned with the role. Experience - Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector. Key Competencies - Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Hands-on experience with grid connection processes for both load and generation facilities. - Deep understanding of German grid regulations, standards, and application procedures. - Strong knowledge of Germany's transmission and distribution networks. - Capable of interpreting technical documentation, engineering specifications, and layout drawings.
