Job Overview We are seeking a seasoned Controls Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing controls activities on site during Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with reviewing plant engineering documents and P&IDs;, troubleshooting plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and directing resources as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. Main Responsibilities: - Manage controls activities on site during Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty equipment. - Plan, organize, integrate and direct resources as required to complete the work scope. - Understand PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams. - Ensure correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance practices are followed. - Provide general knowledge of equipment instrumentation calibration and technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians and operators. - Ensure timely and accurate internal and external reports and meet contractual obligations. - Comply with environmental, health, and safety guidelines and procedures. - Provide expert consultation on complex projects and travel extensively (internationally and domestically). Requirements: - Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance or power plant equipment installation/commissioning. - Successful completion of Controls Specialist training programs is a minimum requirement. - Demonstrated progressive, responsible experience with various types of equipment and site accountabilities is required.
