Technical Specialist - About the Role Our rapidly expanding Middle-East operations demand an exceptional Technical Specialist to drive technical implementations and mentor colleagues. This highly skilled professional will provide expert guidance on Liferay's Java-based technologies, architect front-end and back-end solutions, and oversee implementation and deployment. Key Responsibilities - Provide technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration, implementation, and deployment of Liferay's Java-based technologies. - Architect front-end and back-end solutions, oversee implementing features to design, and enforce best practices and conventions. - Design and implement front-end and back-end solution architecture, mindful of reusability, maintainability, and modularity. - Design and implement custom applications working with Liferay's low code architecture, including React, Spring Boot, etc. - Implement and enforce enterprise (and industry) best practices and convention. - Consult clients on the best fitting framework per client's requirements, including UX design recommendations and best approach in leveraging front-end frameworks. - Recommend best approach in extending or overriding Liferay DXP features. - Tune for performance in JVM, application server, and code. - Configure Liferay DXP, app servers, web servers, JVM, to best meet the needs of clients. - Interface directly with clients to move project forward (including, but not limited to, clarifying requirements, address reported issues, provide project statuses, etc.). - Mentor and oversee less experienced team members - Travel across Middle-East: 50% Language Qualifications - English: High Business Fluency, mandatory - Arabic: Native or High Business Fluency, mandatory Required Qualifications - Experience working within an agile software development lifecycle with testing, continuous integration and deployment (Git, Maven, Jira, Gradle, Jenkins, etc.) - Expert knowledge of databases (MySQL, Oracle) - Strong experience with Java, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, as well as their frameworks and tools. - Strong in Java web development. - Experience with Liferay Technologies. - Experience with full SDLC including business requirements gathering, technical specifications, development, and testing. - Has experience with and understands the methodologies and best practices employed by Liferay or Enterprise Software. - Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. - Expert analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with very strong motivation to identify and resolve customer issues. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex business solution concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. - Some travel to client sites or Liferay offices in Dubai, KSA, etc. Preferred Skillsets - JS-based framework (Angular, React, Vue, Node.js etc) - JavaScript (advanced) - CSS (advanced) - Java Framework (Spring, OSGi, Hibernate, Struts etc) - DevOps (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Git etc) - Unit and functional testing - Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL etc) - Webserver (Nginx, Apache) - Advanced knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and related virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, other search integration - Microservices frameworks and services - Strong experience with enterprise security and identity management systems - SDLC (FLC) - JVM and Application Server tuning - Code review for correctness & best practices What We Offer - Salary package w/ competitive benefits according to qualifications and experience - Opportunities to take responsibility, grow professionally, and Stay Nerdy - A positive and collaborative work culture - Working at a leading open-source company Equal Opportunities Employer - Statement Liferay is committed to the equal treatment of all candidates, customers and employees and to fostering a culture of dignity at work.
