Operates, maintains, and repairs multiple critical and non-critical facility components, including HVAC (heating, cooling, and ventilation) systems, plumbing, fire control and suppression, roofing systems and exterior grounds. Has proficient understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.Supervises Data Center Engineers and Data Center site. Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.Typically has +3 years of people management experience leading teams and developing teams' careers, the Data Center Critical Facilities Supervisor and is fully proficient with each of the responsibilities indicated.ResponsibilitiesManagementSupervises Data Center Engineers to ensure that the duties they are undertaking are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expectedManages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and development careers plansWork with the team to promote the Equinix culture and define the succession plan for the teamProvides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees. Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules shifts and workflow of the teamAssists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenanceResponsible for the KPIs of the Data Center presenting monthly outcomes and promoting with the team the goals and accomplishmentsDefine and improve KPI metrics of performance for the teams' membersSite Capacity ManagementOverall site capacity supervisionPermanent contact and coordination with Capacity and Cross functional team to improve Data Center CapacityProject/Infrastructure ManagementPlans, execute, coordinates, controlling, budgets, and implements resources to complete on time projects and maintenance within the Data centerProvides input and guidance towards budgetResponsible for creating every year the budget for OPEX, CAPEX and R&M; and make sure the correct execution on time of the budgetExecutes specified routine tasks. Meets unit targets typically against a weekly planVendor ManagementOversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standardsSupervision and control of the local and Global vendors contracts to guarantee the correct PM´s (Preventive Maintenances) and CM´s (Corrective Maintenances) activitiesWork with procurement team to align and avoid bias with projects and contractorsTestingAssists with start-up tests, documenting and reporting all problemsSupport the Critical Facilities team during incidents, PM´s (Preventive Maintenances) and CM´s (Corrective Maintenances) activities as technical lead of the Data CenterIncident ManagementCommunicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incidentReport on time incidents related with the infrastructure and customer following Equinix proceduresQualificationsRequires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in Data Center or high availability facilities, with a bachelor's degree in Electricity, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or related careerTypically require financial knowledge and an understanding of budget OPEX, CAPEX and R&M; concepts and execution, vendors negotiation and strong abilities as team leadershipSpecialization or additional studies in Leading people management preferred and strong communication skills, including cross-cultural communication and negotiationLanguage SkillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English ( C1 )/Spanish, and Portugues desirableEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
