Job Description: - Act as INL representative in the Regional Coordination Center (RCC) in Tumaco. Will interface with the Colombian security forces, Accion Social, and local governments/councils in Nariño to assist the organization and implementation of INL-funded, police-led construction, development, and youth sports projects. - Prepare a weekly itinerary of job requirements for upcoming week. - Prepare a weekly accomplishment report. - Travel to Bogota and brief the INL Interdiction Chief and the CSDI working group on progress of consolidation efforts in Southern Band. - Work environment is dangerous from a security perspective. - Person will work with the police, military, local government, and development agencies in a hostile environment. - Individual will be working in narcotics production areas, so illegal armed groups may perceive individual as a threat to narcotics trades. - Physical demands are high, as individual will help train (and be an example for) rural police units. **Job Requirements**: EDUCATION: - High school degree LANGUAGE LEVEL: - Spanish: Native Level - English: English level not required EXPERIENCE: - A career in the Colombian National Police is required. - Police special operations trainer preferred. - Experience operating in combat environment throughout Colombia a must. KNOWLEDGE OF: - Individual needs extraordinary knowledge of Colombia National Police, military public forces agencies, and (to a less degree) development agencies. - Basic knowledge in handling short and long weapons - Basic knowledge on Human Rights SKILLS IN: - Effective communication in Spanish - Physically disciplined and controlled - Excellent leadership skills - Outstanding communication skills. ABILITY TO: - The ability to coordinate work activities with team leaders and other coworkers is a must. - Understand and follow oral and written instructions in Spanish language. - Work cooperatively with other US Government and Colombian employees. - Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. - Write reports in Spanish. - Sometimes this position requires personnel to live permanently at specified locations.
