Job Duties and Qualifications Under general supervision, coordinates and assists in organizing efforts to represent the company favorably in the community. May assist in planning programs that align with the company’s community outreach initiatives and goals as well as those that promote client/business relationships and goodwill. Establishes and maintains relationships with community leaders. Assists with coordination of the company’s charitable contributions program, including coordinating receipt of and documenting requests for financial support. Generally familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Acts as a team member of the company’s community relations team in setting short- and long-term community relations goals and may assist in implementing strategies to achieve these goals. May assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for community relations activities. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Communications or a related field and 1 or more years of experience in community relations, which includes experience in a corporate setting.
