Senior Database Administrator We're looking for a seasoned expert to lead our database strategy and implementation. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing, constructing, installing, and maintaining large relational databases. Key Responsibilities: - Database Design and Implementation: Design, construct, install, and maintain large relational databases to ensure optimal performance and data integrity. - Database Maintenance and Security: Maintain the integrity and security of the database, including backups and recovery procedures. - Disaster Recovery and Failover Systems: Implement and manage disaster recovery and failover systems to minimize downtime and data loss. - Database Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. - Query Optimization: Optimize queries for performance. - Collaboration with Development Teams: Collaborate with development teams to optimize database usage. - High Availability Strategies: Set up and maintain database replication, clustering, mirroring, and other high availability strategies. - Tools and Technologies: Use and understand tools like pgbouncer and modern monitoring systems. - Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices. Requirements: - Clickhouse Experience: Experience with Clickhouse is mandatory. - PostgreSQL Expertise: Proficiency in PostgreSQL setup, replication, upgrade, monitoring, and performance tuning. - Complex Query Skills: Can read and write complex and very complex queries. - Backup and Recovery Procedures: Experience with backup and recovery procedures, as well as PITR. - Database Design and Documentation: Strong knowledge of database design, documentation, and coding. - Database Management Tools: Familiarity with database management tools and performance tuning techniques. - Problem-Solving and Communication: Strong problem-solving and communication skills. - Programming Languages: Familiarity with programming/scripting languages like bash, Python, Go, etc. - DbaaS on Cloud Platforms: Experience with DbaaS on cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS (would be a plus).
