Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for: Position Title: Senior Database Developer Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia What you will be doing: This role is crucial for designing and optimizing database solutions. You will be responsible for developing performant, scalable, and reliable software with a focus on Oracle databases and SQL optimization. Your expertise in advanced query tuning and high-availability tools will enhance our data management systems, supporting efficient information storage and retrieval. The successful candidate will work within a hybrid environment in Medellin, Colombia, collaborating extensively with remote and internal teams. As part of our senior team, you will collaborate closely with developers and DBAs, contributing significantly to our engineering efforts across Latin America and the United States. Expect to engage with complex challenges in data architecture and work alongside a dynamic team to drive innovative solutions and strategic growth for the organization. Design, develop, and optimize Oracle database structures and queries to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Collaborate with DBAs and software developers to implement tuning strategies using metrics and AWR reports for enhanced system performance. Utilize advanced SQL and PL/SQL techniques, including stored procedures and query tuning, to enhance application performance. Integrate high-availability tools such as Oracle DataGuard and GoldenGate to ensure system reliability and data integrity. Employ DevOps methodologies and tools like Git, Jenkins, and Ansible for streamlined database development and deployment processes. Maintain and configure database tools, including Toad, SQL Developer, Liquibase, and DataGrip, to support database administration and development tasks. Facilitate data migration and transformation processes to improve data accessibility and accuracy for reporting and analytics needs. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of cutting-edge software solutions. Required Skills & Experience: BS degree in Computer Science or a related field. Advanced knowledge of Oracle, including table, index, and DDL operations, and query tuning. Advanced experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including strong skills in stored procedures and performance tuning. Proven experience with data modeling for efficient data storage and retrieval. Proven experience using explain plans, Autotrace statistics, and AWR reports to tune SQL queries and procedures. Experience with database tools such as SQL Developer, Toad, Liquibase, and DataGrip. Experience with high-availability tools, including GoldenGate and DataGuard. Experience with Oracle flashback and DataPump for high-availability and backup Experience with cloud-based database technologies such as Mongo Atlas, Postgres, Cosmos DB. Experience with cloud vendors like OCI, Google, AWS, and Azure, with a preference for Azure. Experience with Git, including configuration file maintenance using XML, JSON, and YAML. Experience with DevOps tools and processes, including Jenkins and Ansible. Experience with Atlassian tools, such as Confluence and Jira. Advanced English language proficiency, required B2 level. Nice to Have: - Experience with Oracle Autonomous DB for enhanced operational simplicity and efficiency. - Proficiency in Java for expanding integration and application development capabilities. - Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform to streamline infrastructure management. - Background in Supply Chain Logistics to align database solutions with industry-specific needs. - Certification in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to validate cloud expertise. - Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and effective communication across teams.
