As an Applied Scientist you will join a highly cross-functional team to develop cutting-edge ML solutions that redefine AI-human interaction across text, audio, and conversational modalities. You will address complex challenges to guide the science roadmap—spanning tasks like domain aware intent recognition, content intelligence, and conversational analytics to data efficient model training and privacy-preserving AI guardrails. You will prototype, optimize, and deploy high-performing ML models in production, ensuring both efficiency and rigorous model governance. Working closely with engineers, you will design end-to-end pipelines that meet strict latency and throughput demands. You will also get to explore and investigate new research in AI—particularly around large language models and voice-enabled AI—to identify and apply cutting-edge techniques that elevate our enterprise solutions for customer support delivery. As a mentor to scientists and engineers, you will foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, providing technical guidance and expertise. Who are you? Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or a related field. 3+ years of experience building ML models for industry use cases. Strong machine learning fundamentals. Proficiency in Python and significant hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, including custom model architectures and performance tuning. Demonstrated understanding of Transformer architectures (e.g., BERT, GPT), RNNs, and text embedding methods, with exposure to speech or multi-modal data. Proven track record turning research into applied engineering solutions for production. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field. Publication or research experience in top-tier journals or conferences, demonstrating contributions to the ML/AI community. Expertise in privacy-preserving ML (e.g., federated learning, differential privacy), content filtering, and other safety/ethical guardrails for AI deployment in regulated industries. Experience with SoTA learning paradigms like self-supervised and contrastive learning, meta-learning, transfer learning and reinforcement learning for model development.
