RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to hotel menus and recipes, ensuring high quality and consistency. Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation, adhering to hotel standards and hygiene regulations. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including workstations and equipment. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely food service, especially during peak hours. Control food inventory and minimise waste, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients. Assist in menu planning and contribute to the creation of new dishes and specials. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards. Prepare food for various hotel outlets, including restaurants, banquets, and room service. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Proven experience as a Hotel Cook or similar role, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Behavioural Competencies Strong work ethic and reliability.
