Remote Control System Engineer: Junior Level This position involves the design of custom, state-of-the-art electronic and DDC control systems for small projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory, as well as experience with Autodeck AutoCAD software. Responsibilities: - Ensure that project requirements and risks are understood by attending sales turnover meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. - Analyze project plans, specifications, sales estimates, and sales proposals to create a list of project engineering deliverables (submittals, workflow packages, etc.). - Generate Request For Information (RFI) requests to ensure that final products match the design intent and clearly communicate design and operation of the system. - Create controls drawings utilizing ACAD software that include flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics as required. - Select the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solution that is compliant with the project specification, applicable codes, and company standards. - Determine network architecture, topology, and transmission media that is appropriate for the installation and conforms to the latest network standards and project specification. Requirements: - Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - Knowledge of Autodeck AutoCAD software. - Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory. - Knowledge of the elements and building blocks of HVAC controls. - Knowledge of damper actuator and control valve sizing and selection. - Knowledge of control strategies and logic that can be used to provide optimum operation of plant-level HVAC systems (such as chillers, boilers, and air handlers). - Knowledge of supervisory control strategies for the overall operation of the BMS (such as life safety control, electrical demand control, etc.). - Knowledge of BMS communication protocols and network topologies. Execution: - Scopes and implements project-level solutions with minimal guidance. - Consistently follows best practices, able to defend technical decisions in design review meetings. - Creates accurate designs. - Manages workload efficiently, proactively suggesting solutions to competing demands.
