This role includes managing with the Center of Excellence, outsourcing, and local teams, collaborating with various areas to ensure accounting and taxes are accomplished, reliable, and accurate. The leader will oversee, assist, and supervise the process and operating activities, follow up on the duties segregation, and achieve corporate compliance with the company's internal policies and procedures. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in Accounts Payable Process Share Service Center – Ensure the WHT application confirms the correct application. Participate with local outsourcing to accomplish the local tax compliance related to all applicable tax regulations in Colombia. Follow up on the correct process implementations with the share service center to ensure Omega Colombia's compliance with local taxes and withholdings, such as Sales, VAT, Import tax, withholding taxes, foreign withholdings, legal documents, municipalities, and transfer pricing. Follow up and comply with all tax and statutory obligations on time, avoiding fines and penalties. Ensure the correct law application, support information, and save documentation properly. Ensure the correct historical files are archived, both online and physically as needed. Implement and maintain Oracle Configuration for taxes and withholdings and other projects that were automated. Contribute to month-end closing. Check and register the posting of accruals and balances analysis in Oracle for direct and indirect taxes. Assist with internal and external audit requirements. Support and control of Electronic Invoicing. Manage deferred tax. Knowledge of international transfer pricing regulations and applications. DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Recommend tax strategies that comply with laws and promote the company’s financial well-being. Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure financial information is recorded accurately. Improve and optimize processes in tax returns and accounting topics involved. Identify opportunities for savings and reduce non-deductible expenses in all areas or departments impacting taxes. Share experience and align processes according to corporate policies. Extend tax control and activities to the COE in the medium term. EXPERIENCE Title: Accountant degree with a specialization in Taxes. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in similar roles managing accounting and taxes. Knowledge/Experience: In-depth knowledge of Substantive Taxes. Role: Leader (Senior Accountant and taxes).
