As we take the next steps in our evolution, we’re looking for a committed General Manager to help us bring structure, clarity, and consistent excellence to our day-to-day operations. About the role — General Manager This role is more than just managing a place. It’s about shaping the culture, rhythm, and operational foundation of Donkey Sunrise. As General Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations, lead our team, implement efficient systems, and ensure our guest experience remains world-class. You’ll work closely with the founders and team leads to create a reliable, scalable structure — while still preserving the warm, spontaneous spirit that defines our space. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, loves motorcycles, people and travel, and is motivated to build something meaningful for the long term. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Operations & Guest Experience Supervise all on-site operations: check-ins, bookings, communication, cleanliness, hospitality Ensure guests feel welcome, informed, and cared for Create a calm, warm, yet professional atmosphere - by yourself AND by the right personnel Manage the physical space (rooms, kitchen, common areas) : make sure the property is clean, inviting, and running smoothly. 2. Team & People Management Lead, train, and support staff and volunteers Create clear schedules, responsibilities, and role descriptions Design and manage a structured volunteer program Foster team collaboration, motivation, and growth 3. Structure & Systems Translate our existing way of working into scalable processes. Standardize daily workflows so that they’re consistent and easy to follow. Make sure the team is up-to-date about what’s happening / have regular meetings Use tools like Lobbylink for visibility and planning 4. Financial & Operational Oversight Help monitor budgets and spending Oversee maintenance, construction, and improvements Track operational performance using KPIs via Lobbylink and other tools. Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards 5.
