This role aims to provide a strategic estimation process for complex projects, particularly in the pre-award phase. The incumbent will generate reliable cost estimates for professional services that drive competitive, high-quality proposals by merging rigorous data analysis, market benchmarking, and technical insight. This includes integrating inputs from commercial, engineering, and project management teams; mentoring junior estimators; and ensuring adherence to internal governance and industry best practices in a dynamic, energy transition and sustainability environment. Responsibilities Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive estimating activities for assigned projects, focusing on professional services cost estimation during the pre-award phase. Prepare detailed cost estimates using established methodologies—including analysis of salary benchmarks, overhead, escalation, and contingency requirements—to formulate competitive proposals. Collaborate with Commercial Managers, project management, engineering, and capture teams to integrate all technical and commercial inputs into the estimation process. Lead statistical analyses of historical data and benchmarking exercises to continuously improve estimation techniques and ensure market competitiveness. Prepare comprehensive pricing summaries detailing total selling price, gross margin, EBIT calculations, cash flow analysis, and Basis of Estimates. Provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate estimators, fostering skills development and best practices in cost estimation. Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive cost data while maintaining complete documentation for internal governance. Assist Commercial Managers with the creation and updating of customer-specific and standard Rate Schedules. Requirements A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in professional services pricing, estimating, or contract tendering is required. Experience should include exposure to energy transition projects and various commercial contracting models.
