At Anthology, we build software products that empower institutions to make strategic decisions with their data. These products assist with several aspects of higher education including Student Engagement, Program Assessment, and Course Evaluations. Our Software Engineers, along with ProdUX professionals, are fundamental to the creation of solutions for our member institutions. We’re looking for a manager to join our team that empowers schools and students to have a more engaged and fulfilling experience within higher education institutions. You will be working with a cross-functional team that participates in the full lifecycle of product development from discovery to development to deployment. As a member of our Product Development team, you’ll work in an agile environment delivering industry-leading SaaS products and web service platforms. As a development manager, you will guide your team as they work closely with product to solve a wide variety of technology challenges and to deliver new features and improvements. You will work and coordinate with other team leads and senior managers on cross-team projects to ensure dependencies are identified, understood, and managed. Primary responsibilities will include: - Understanding and demonstrating Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices - Embracing and championing the use of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) to automate infrastructure provisioning and management - Implementing security best practices throughout the development and deployment lifecycle - Taking ownership of the team's product areas running in production - Resolving production issues and defects for solutions owned by the team - Ensuring proper team and inter-team communication practices - Identifying issues with internal team communication practices - Guiding/contributing to process improvement initiatives on the team - Leading/participating in solution design on the team - Helping ensure the team is scoping work properly - Mentoring team members earlier in their careers Required skills/qualifications: - Significant experience within cloud software development - Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and written and oral communication skills - A proven track record of managing and growing high performing teams - Computer Science/Engineering background or ability to demonstrate a strong technical background - Ability to break down large/complex problems and to lead the process of design, implementation, and rollout of automation projects and solutions - Ability to solicit and develop a roadmap for improving the tools that support the various engineering teams - Experience practicing DevOps and CI/CD - Ability to comprehend high level requirements and design and contribute to their details - A working understanding of software engineering best practices and experience with Agile methods - Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above Preferred qualifications/experience: - Experience with.NET and C# - Experience with Node.js and Typescript - Experience with Microsoft Azure - Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code - Experience with event-driven microservice architectures The Office: We have an office located in Bogota, Colombia as a hub for the LAC market. - Located in Capital Towers center in the financial district - Excellent and secure area to eat lunch, have a walk, or dine after office hours - Benefits in prepaid medicine - Easy access to public transportation close to two important avenues, Carrera 7 and Calle 100 - Free bike parking for employees and paid bike parking for visitors - Multiple private spaces for virtual and face-to-face meetings - Regular events like bring your dog to work day and ping-pong, foosball, and Mario Kart tournaments - Sodexo card provided for employees This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required.
