Job Title: Marketing Manager Summary of the Role: The Marketing Manager at our American History eCommerce subscription business will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive email marketing strategies and managing all aspects of email campaigns. This role involves creating engaging content, optimizing campaigns, overseeing list management, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Marketing Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive lead generation, customer acquisition, and revenue growth while enhancing brand visibility and engagement. Key Responsibilities: A. Email Marketing Strategy: ○ Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies aligned with overall marketing objectives. ○ Design engaging email campaigns to effectively communicate brand messaging and drive desired actions. ○ Implement segmentation strategies to deliver targeted content to specific audience segments. B. Campaign Management and Optimization: ○ Manage end-to-end execution of email campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and deployment. ○ Monitor campaign performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and optimize for maximum effectiveness. ○ Conduct A/B testing of email elements (subject lines, content, calls-to-action) to refine strategies and improve results. C. List Management and Growth: ○ Oversee email database management, ensuring data accuracy, hygiene, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM). ○ Implement strategies to grow the email subscriber list through lead-generation initiatives and website opt-ins. ○ Segment and categorize email lists based on demographics, behavior, and other criteria for tailored content and messaging. D. Automation and Workflow Management: ○ Utilize email automation platforms (e.g., Klaviyo) to set up triggered workflows, drip campaigns, and personalized messaging sequences. ○ Optimize automation workflows to nurture leads, onboard new subscribers, and re-engage inactive users. 1 ○ Continuously refine automated sequences based on performance metrics and user feedback. E. Content Creation and Copywriting: ○ Collaborate with the copywriting and creative teams to develop compelling email content, including copy, graphics, and multimedia elements. ○ Monitor and ensure brand voice consistency in copywriting and subject lines. ○ Oversee the timeline and turnaround for content creation and editing revisions, ensuring deadlines are met. ○ Coordinate with the creative team to produce video and image content that aligns with marketing objectives. F. Social Media Management: ○ Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest). ○ Create and schedule social media content that aligns with overall marketing objectives and brand messaging. ○ Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to comments. ○ Analyze social media performance metrics and optimize strategies for improved engagement and reach. G. Analytics and Reporting: ○ Monitor and analyze email marketing performance metrics, including delivery metrics, and conversion rates. ○ Gather data from consultants, external support, and internal teams to compile comprehensive monthly reports. ○ Generate regular reports and dashboards to track KPIs and provide insights to stakeholders. ○ Use data-driven insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in marketing campaigns. H. Compliance and Best Practices: ○ Stay updated on industry best practices, trends, and regulations related to email marketing. ○ Ensure compliance with anti-spam laws and email marketing regulations. ○ Implement best practices to maintain deliverability, engagement, and subscriber satisfaction. Qualifications and Skills: ● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. ● 3-5 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or a related field. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills. ● Proactive, highly motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision. ● Strong analytical skills or experience in data analysis to interpret campaign performance, generate actionable insights, and optimize marketing strategies. ● Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. ● Good time management skills, including prioritization, scheduling, and adaptability. ● Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging social media posts, email content, blogs, and articles. ● Interest in history is a plus, as it can provide valuable insights for crafting compelling content and engaging with the audience in a meaningful way. ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for various documentation and presentation needs. ● Experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets for collaborative work and data management. ● Experience with Outlook and Gmail for effective email communication and organization. ● Proficiency in Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms for creating and implementing email campaigns, automation, and performance tracking is a plus.
