JOB DESCRIPTION: Staff Accountant Jr. Scope and Region: Colombia / CALA Region 100% Remote We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Accountant with a solid background in multinational public companies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project-based accounting operations, primarily for Colombia, with additional involvement in Mexico and Brazil. The role requires a service-oriented professional, capable of leading with cross-functional deliverables and driving success across the CALA Accounting region. Key Responsibilities Accounting and Tax: Manage Oracle general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), Intercompany transactions (IC), and fixed assets (FA) for our Colombia office. Reconcile monthly Balance Sheet Accounts. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close reports for Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil. Treasury Track and report on monthly cash needs. Coordinate AP, Taxes, and other payroll payments. Negotiate FX rates with the local bank once or twice a month and complete international wire transfers adhering to local formalities (documentation). Process expense reports and payroll-related payments. Local knowledge Coordinate deliverables to and from our local tax firm in adherence to Colombian compliance requirements twice a month. Knowledge of PSE payments to DIAN, AFC, AFP, and other government platforms. Work closely with local firms for statutory financial submissions and monthly tax reviews. Ensure Registro Único Tributario (RUT) submissions and special certificate submissions in coordination with the Colombian Chamber of Commerce, when needed. Corporate Maintain continuous interaction with the Global Accounting Team, ensuring internal policies and procedures are followed. Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting and monthly reviews. Assist in miscellaneous accounting tasks for monthly submissions and reports across Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil. Key Skills Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, ideally Oracle. Nice to have: Blackline, Tableau, TM1, and AI tools such as AP Express. Soft Skills: Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective team collaboration and cross-functional communication. Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and accuracy. Proactive attitude toward continuous process improvement and learning. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus, but not mandatory.
