This is a permanent position to work in our Cartago site, located in Zona Franca La Lima. Job function summary Planning the strategies of the training activities and verifying the adequate work of the trainers to ensure that the documents and processes comply with the practices and procedures established by the company. Guide the organization to identify training needs, and plan, organize, manage, control all training activities to enhance Operations performance by developing competencies and technical expertise of employees. Major Areas of accountability: Identification of technical training needs of Ops. people by considering production plans / strategies, change of technology / equipment, legal requirements, organization structure, safety, quality, environment, security and cost aspects. Ensure that training programs are designed, developed, delivered, evaluated, and updated in line with the best training practices. Prepare long, mid- and short-term training plans and work with other departments on integration within operations plans in such a way that all needed resources are utilized in the most effective and efficient manner. Define and propose departmental budget and keep close control on all expenses and metrics. Ensure that delivered training and other training department activities are recorded in the system. Coordinate training on changes to the procedures manual (MPC), quality procedures (QP's), document changes (DC's). As well, manage the control of non-operational refresher training, recertifications and induction as appropriate. Manage, organize, and control the work of subordinates, motivate them and encourage their professional and career development. Generate and implement ideas for continuous improvement (process, documentation, quality, safety, etc.). Assist the supervisor in assigned tasks. Additional functions that can be assigned to. Responsible for: Performing their job in compliance with the guidelines given. Drawing attention to the manager to any difficulties in understanding or following the guidelines. Drawing attention to inefficiency of the system. Take responsibility for those safety aspects identified for the given position. Support EHS positive culture Responsible for the following within their area Demonstrating responsibility and promote EHS culture. Defining responsibility and authority for EHS work Ensure that employees receive adequate training Ensure awareness of the Quality and Sustainability EHS policy Ensure awareness of their contribution to the effectiveness of the EHS system and the environmental performance Ensure awareness of implications for not conforming with EHS requirements Ensure good conditions related to EHS and prevent occupational injuries/diseases as well as environmental incidents. University Degree in engineering / education (or equivalent experiences) Basic knowledge of "Medical Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing". Experience in personnel management and conflict resolution. Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of support departments. Prefer Qualifications Previous experience as a trainer is an advantage. Desirable to have participated in at least one continuous improvement project.
