This role plays a critical function in ensuring that all logistics operations are executed in compliance with trade regulations, contracts, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in international logistics, trade documentation, and a solid understanding of agricultural commodities.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Trade and Compliance:Conduct business confirmation review to verify trade terms and counterparties.Perform compliance checks in line with internal policies and external regulations.Review trade history and assess any prior dealings or performance.Ensure up-to-date regulatory compliance for all destination and origin countries.Execute Know Your Counterparty (KYC) procedures and documentation.Contracts and Agreements:Handle contract issuance, review, and manage revisions.Coordinate contract signature and archiving processes.Issue and manage service agreements with logistics service providers and agents.Verify bank details for payment security and compliance.Oversee down payment and financial transaction milestones.Shipment Coordination:Confirm Original Bill of Lading (OBL) or Telex Release as applicable.Ensure accuracy and timely communication of tags & shipping instructions.Verify import permits are in place and valid.Secure booking confirmations and manage space allocations with carriers.Confirm free days and storage terms at destination.Execution and Monitoring:Confirm departure with shipping lines and update internal systems.Manage appropriation and allocation of shipped quantities.Oversee documents issuance (B/L, COO, phytosanitary, etc.).Conduct documents review, amendments, and final approvals.Coordinate delivery notes issuance upon arrival.Process balance payment prior to document release.Manage release of original documents or digital documents to clients.Generate and issue sales invoices in line with contract terms.Manage and coordinate insurance claim handling for damages or losses.Investigate and process quality claims in collaboration with QA and inspection teams.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field3+ years of experience in international logistics or commodity trade operationsStrong knowledge of international shipping terms, Incoterms, and trade documentationFamiliarity with agricultural commodity trading and global trade complianceExcellent communication and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software (e.g., SAP, ERP, or TMS platforms)Ability to multitask and manage timelines under pressurePreferred Qualifications:Experience with letter of credit and bank documentationKnowledge of customs clearance and import/export proceduresFluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, Mandarin) is a plusPrevious experience working with ocean freight carriers and freight forwardersSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesWholesale #J-18808-Ljbffr
