Cloud Engineer Lead Position We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer Lead to oversee the development and maintenance of our cloud-based systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a small team of developers in building scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native applications. Key Responsibilities: - Leading a team of developers in designing, implementing, and deploying cloud-based systems using AWS services such as Lambda, Glue, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and CloudWatch. - Designing and implementing robust APIs and backend systems using Python and AWS. - Guiding the team in working with serverless architecture and deployment practices using Chalice and Serverless Framework for Lambda deployments. - Leveraging MariaDB on RDS and advanced SQL skills for managing and querying complex datasets. - Driving the use of clean architecture and sound engineering practices to ensure long-term scalability and performance. - Contributing directly to development using Python (with Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Selenium) and JavaScript (React, Redux, Material UI). - Participating in Agile SCRUM rituals ensuring team alignment and velocity. - Mentoring and onboarding developers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. - Supporting CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and release processes. Requirements: - 10+ years of overall software development experience. - 5+ years managing full-stack teams in cloud environments. - Deep expertise in AWS cloud services (Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, Glue, S3, CloudWatch). - Strong SQL skills and experience with MariaDB. - Advanced proficiency in Python and JavaScript (React, Redux). - Solid understanding of serverless architecture and deployment practices. - Experience with Agile SCRUM methodologies. - Excellent communication skills and comfortable in client-facing roles. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with web scraping tools (e.g., Selenium). - Prior experience scaling technical teams in fast-paced environments. - Product and architecture mindset with ability to see the bigger picture.
