Job Opportunity The position of Senior Protection Assistant requires a high level of expertise in protection principles and frameworks. The incumbent will work closely with the supervisor and colleagues to achieve their duties. This role involves: - Providing counsel on protection matters to affected individuals - Liaising with relevant authorities for personal documentation - Supporting activities in protection-related programming with implementing partners - Conducting initial information gathering and interviews for eligibility, status determination, durable solutions, and social needs assessment - Contributing to measures to identify, prevent, and reduce statelessness The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of protection standards in line with international norms. Key Responsibilities - Protection Counselling: Providing guidance on protection issues to vulnerable populations - Documentation Support: Assisting individuals with personal and other relevant documentation - Programming Assistance: Supporting activities in protection-related programming with partner organizations - Information Gathering: Conducting preliminary information collection and interviews for eligibility, status determination, durable solutions, and social needs assessment - Statelessness Prevention: Contributing to measures to identify, prevent, and reduce statelessness Requirements - Protection Principles: Deep understanding of protection principles and frameworks - Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Working Relationships The incumbent will work closely with the supervisor and colleagues to achieve their duties.
