**Reporting to**: Contract Manager. - **Department**: Legal & Commercial. - **Job Location**: Bogotá, Colombia. - **Travel Required**: Intermittent travel to sites in Colombia. **Company Overview**: Mainstream Renewable Power is the leading independent developer of utility-scale wind and solar power plants. In South Africa, Mainstream has been awarded a total of 848 megawatts of wind and solar projects under the Government’s renewable energy procurement programme since the first round in 2011, making it the country’s most successful independent renewable energy developer. The company is currently operating 360MW and constructing a further 250MW of wind farm projects which are due to reach commercial operation in 2020. In Chile, Mainstream owns 1.3GW of fully contracted wind and solar projects in operation, in construction or at late stage development, due to its unprecedented success in government auctions. In Asia, the company is developing large-scale projects in Vietnam and the Philippines. Mainstream has raised more than €1.6bn in project finance to date and employs 160 staff across four continents. * Summary of Role: * As Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the proper execution of the main contracts for the Mainstream projects under construction, in Colombia. You will also be responsible for supporting and guiding the construction Project Team towards a correct decision-making process on contractual matters. * What will you do?* As needed, provide guidance on contract matters to for the main contracts of projects under construction, including training to other employees in contracting procedures. Oversee the correct and timely implementation of contractual terms and conditions for all main contracts. Ensure that every project functions under the approved contract procedures and completes each register as the contract progresses. As a minimum this will include: - Correspondence log - Change Order/amendment management. - Compensation event register. - Construction Programme acceptance. - Sub-contractor review and approval. - Issuance of construction milestone certificates and ensuring that their contractual requirements are fulfilled completely. - Management of Liquidated Damages. - Liaise with internal and external legal consultants regarding any potential litigation issues. - Coordinate any potential or actual Insurance Claims. - Proactively analyse the contract in combination with the project schedule to anticipate upcoming contractual events. - Review compensation events and claims to ensure appropriate cost and time evaluation. **What we require?** - Excellent written and oral communication skills, in Spanish and in English. - Significant autonomy in work, but a strong reporting and approval process using Mainstream’s Asset Delivery procedures and process (this is based on PMI® PMBOK®). - Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines, while working as a team, coordinating tasks with colleagues and consultants. - Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks. - Excellent attention to detail. - Ability to maintain sight of the ‘big picture’ objectives and strategy at all times. - Solid IT skills, including experience with MS Office suit. - An organised approach to working, task prioritisation, and time management. - Availability for travel to sites (outside of Bogotá) when required. - Education and Experience: _ - Degree in law, engineering, or business with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of post-graduate experience. - General knowledge of FIDIC contracts terms and conditions. - Experience in contracts management on at least two infrastructure or energy projects. - Knowledge of the Colombian regulation related to the construction permit process and Health&Safety; issues. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Experience on presenting to senior management at board level capability of managing internal and external resources with ease. - Experience in drafting and reviewing agreements and contractual letters in both English and Spanish. **What We Offer?** We offer you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization, a diverse workplace with regards to gender, age and cultural background in a growing market in a fast-paced industry.
