Job purpose: The Senior AEM Content Author is responsible for designing components and providing support to web applications based on AEM platform. You will work independently, owning the design and authoring of simple and complex websites and provide accurate time estimates for your tasks. The Senior Content Author works with web applications and a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and is comfortable with content management systems. Job details: - Location: Remote (company entity based in Costa Rica; must be able to work a UTC-6 schedule) - Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. UTC-6 - Job Type: Fixed-term, full-time position (about 2 months) with opportunity for extension - Language Proficiency: Professional proficiency in Spanish and English (B2+ reading, writing & conversation) - Availability: Immediate availability preferred Key Responsibilities: - Building web applications that follow the latest web standards and conforms with leading-edge front-end technologies, using the components implemented by the Development team - Works closely with Creative, Business, Technology and QA teams to ensure the technology will be functional and meet performance targets on all web platforms (mobile, desktop) - May help oversee and test the development of components - Implements user and business requirements which are composed of multiple authoring activities - Maintains up-to-date and complete documentation on projects as dictated by the capability’s guidelines and best practices - Debugs or troubleshoots complex issues in existing web applications - Proactively provide feedback on policies and procedures when an opportunity for improvement exists Required Academic Background: B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Required Skills and Experience: - 5+ years working with content-management systems (AEM, Sitecore, TeamSite). - Hands-on experience with Adobe CMS content authoring, wireframe and design/prototyping tools. - Skilled at using Adobe Experience Manager to enhance customer experience and documenting AEM authoring processes. - Creates and maintains documentation of AEM authoring process. - Strong understanding of CMS templates/components, cross-browser and responsive development. - Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript); basic familiarity with pre-processed CSS (SASS, LESS). - Knowledge of modern development practices (mobile-first, MVC, object-oriented) and common design patterns. - Basic knowledge of design patterns (e.g., model-view-controller, observer, object oriented, etc.) - Fluency with data-transfer formats and protocols (JSON, XML, HTTP). - Ability to build proof-of-concept prototypes, integrate CMS-based solutions, and perform root-cause analysis on web issues. Nice to have - Experience with version-control systems (Git, SVN, Mercurial). - Familiarity with Scrum, Jira and time-tracking tools.
