Disseminate and implement the policies and standards defined by the Logistics Department. Ensure the alignment of the Logistics Dept. policies and standards with those of other departments represented in Cell, and that result is appropriate with the context of the mission. Ensure the quality of the programmes as well as the respect for MSF humanitarian principles in the missions managed by the cell, through technical supervision, follow-up and advice. The Operational Logistics Support reports hierarchically to the Head of Operational Logistics. **RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN TASKS** **1. Expert reactive support to field questions** - Ensure reactive technical advice to the field teams, cells and departments that require functional expertise **2. Expert and proactive support to logistic activities and projects** - Ensure proactive support to the main logistics projects that requires her/his area of expertise - Ensure hands-on support during start-up phase of interventions that have a heavy component of the functional expertise - Give on-site expert advice by the mean of planned field visits **3. R&D;** - Assess internal and external technical possibilities and new trends that may be relevant for MSF and propose/share them within OCBA and the rest of the sections as appropriate. Collaborates in transversal projects and dossiers with other technical referents across OCBA and the movement that requires her/his area of expertise - Initiate, plan, lead and manages R&D; initiatives **4. Base of knowledge** - Ensure a coherent documentation (processes, procedures and other knowledge assets/tools) is available for field teams - Actively participate in training efforts related to her/his functional expertise (design training modules, facilitates trainings ) **5. Staff management** - Manages, on behalf of the head of Operational Logistics and/or the head of Technical Logistics, the staff under her/his responsibility (MIO, MST, PM, Officers): supervision, monitoring and evaluation of performance, planning visits - Ensures clear prioritization and distribution of tasks in alignment with operations priorities and Log≻ improvement agenda **6. Transversal, intersectional and external duties** - Represent MSF OCBA in the Intersectional Working Groups and participates to the tasks related to the groups - Participate in the Logistics Department’s backup system based on the organization’s needs - Actively participates to the internal processes of the logistic department including planning, forecasting and reporting - Define with the team the annual objectives, priority portfolios and overall planning of the group activities. Follow up these activities through the year with clear mid-term objectives and action plan. - Definition of technical policies, tools and standard procedures to be applied in field missions **SELECTION CRITERIA** - Minimum experience of 2 years as a Logistics Coordinator/Dep Logistics coordinator in MSF, - Experience in Emergency preparedness and response. - Field experience in technical areas such as: Supplies, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Cold Chain, Construction, Transportation, etc. - Knowledge of the humanitarian context and projects. - Fluent in English, desirable French and Spanish. - IT knowledge as advanced user. - Good level user level of MS Office package **CONDITIONS** - Position based in any MSF OCBA Hub (Barcelona, MSF-Spain office delegations, Buenos Aires, Amman, Dakar or Nairobi) or homebased - Temporary contract of 6 months at full time - Annual gross salary: HQ-4A + secondary benefits based on MSF OCBA Reward Policy.
