Job ID: 54764 Location: Columbia Full/Part Time: Full-Time Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Missouri - Columbia Job Description Mizzou's Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (ChBME) is at a pivotal moment of transformation and growth, aligned with Mizzou Engineering's ambitious goals. Supported by the Mizzou Forward initiative, the department aims to expand its faculty and research activities significantly. The department plays a key role in university initiatives such as the Research Reactor (MURR), the Center for Energy Innovation, NextGen Precision Health Initiative, and the Materials Science & Engineering Institute. The next chair will leverage these strengths, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to the department's and university's future growth and innovation. Departmental Priorities Build a cohesive research agenda and expand research enterprise in chemical, biological, and biomedical engineering. Enhance and optimize undergraduate and graduate program offerings. Engage with campus, local, and broader partners for sustainable growth and impact. Develop a strategic plan aligned with college and university goals, incorporating stakeholder input. Responsibilities Develop a shared vision and strategy, engaging faculty, staff, and leadership. Use data to inform planning, goal setting, and activity monitoring. Lead and advocate for excellence in teaching, research, and service. Mentor faculty to enhance scholarly productivity and secure funding. Drive curriculum innovation and program development. Promote a collegial, interdisciplinary research environment. Recruit and retain high-quality faculty. Manage department operations and resources. Strengthen partnerships and pursue development opportunities. Represent the department in professional societies and industry collaborations. Maintain accreditation standards. Qualifications Applicants should hold a doctorate in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Candidates must have an established record of academic achievement meriting a Full Professor appointment, with experience in research, leadership, curriculum development, and strategic planning, aligned with the mission of an AAU university and land-grant institution.
