Job Title Sr. Staff Accountant, LATAM Accounts - 9653 Job Description: - We are seeking a skilled Sr. Staff Accountant to join our LATAM finance and accounting team. - The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the bookkeeping for local entities and taking part in compliance processes including external audits, corporate tax, and VAT returns. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in statutory bookkeeping for LATAM entities in accordance with local GAAP and requirements. - Support the preparation and delivery of annual standalone external audits for all Coupa LATAM entities. - Review tax workpapers and ensure compliance with local tax legislation including monthly withholding, withholding ICA, VAT, annual Corporate Income Tax and other applicable taxes in various LATAM jurisdictions. - Work closely with local auditors and provide requested supporting evidence and explanations in a timely manner. - Support daily invoice finance review and approval process within MyCoupa for the LATAM region. - Raise spend requisitions in MyCoupa for external services required. - Collaborate with local consultants, auditors, and tax advisors. - Participate in special projects in the LATAM region as needed. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA is preferred. - Minimum of 4+ years' experience in finance (Accounting, Consolidation, Reporting, Audit, etc.) is required. - Big four experience and knowledge of VAT filing and reporting are highly valued. - Prior experience in bookkeeping for LATAM local accounts, particularly Colombia, and working knowledge of local LATAM GAAPs/IFRS accounting standards and relevant local finance regulations are desired. - Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish are required; Portuguese is an asset. - Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks/initiatives, and meet established deadlines. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask under tight deadlines are essential. - Advanced personal computer skills, including MS Office, Google Docs, and experience in MyCoupa, Netsuite are required. - Adaptability to fast-paced continuous learning environment and willingness to take on additional responsibility are necessary.
