The Director of Content Analytics and Insights for the Digital Growth Team at TelevisaUnivision will oversee all aspects of managing data sources, organizing data, and interpreting it to generate valuable business insights. This role involves developing comprehensive content strategies, storytelling through data, user segmentation, trend analysis, and deriving actionable insights. You will balance hands-on analytical work while leading and mentoring junior data analysts in your team. You will collaborate closely with editorial and business teams to optimize content, drive audience engagement, and monetization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership: Lead the data science function within Editorial Operations, setting the vision and strategy for how data can be used to inform content decisions, drive audience growth, and improve overall performance across digital and TV platforms. Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of data scientists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, data-driven insights that support editorial operations, content optimization, and audience growth initiatives. Data Analysis & Reporting: Oversee the analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform editorial decision-making and content strategy across all platforms, including web, social media, newsletters, and video. Audience Segmentation: Guide the development and implementation of advanced audience segmentation strategies to better understand user behavior, preferences, and demographics, enabling targeted content creation and personalized experiences. Content Optimization: Collaborate with managing editors, content producers, and other stakeholders to optimize content for maximum audience reach and engagement, using data-driven recommendations. Predictive Modeling: Lead the development and deployment of predictive models to forecast content performance, user engagement, and other key metrics, helping the editorial team to make proactive, data-informed decisions. A/B Testing & Experimentation: Oversee the design and execution of A/B tests to evaluate the impact of different content formats, headlines, images, and distribution strategies on audience engagement and growth. Performance Metrics: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content performance, audience growth, and user engagement, providing actionable insights to the editorial and executive teams. Data-Driven Editorial Strategy: Work closely with the Director of Product and Audience Growth to develop and refine a data-driven editorial strategy that aligns with overall business goals and drives audience growth across all platforms. Translation of Insights to TV Consumption: Translate insights from digital behavior to TV consumption patterns to support linear teams, providing data-driven insights to drive tune-in and enhance TV audience engagement. Research & Benchmarking: Continuously benchmark content performance against other media outlets, creators, and industry trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in content strategy. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and technology, to ensure data-driven insights are integrated into broader company strategies and initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in a data science role, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level position. Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams of data scientists. Extensive experience working with large datasets, performing complex analyses, and building predictive models. Experience with data visualization tools. Expertise in machine learning techniques and frameworks. Strong understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and social media analytics. Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies that drive business growth. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
