Key responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Leading the delivery of the plan, forecast, and close processes for the full underwriting P&L;, ensuring alignment between internal planning processes and regulatory submissions. - Leading and developing the Latin America FP&A; team, mentoring junior FP&A; employees. - Production and presentation of quarterly results packs to stakeholders across the region (functions & underwriting teams). - Partnering with cost center owners to proactively manage operating expenses, overseeing production of monthly OpEx packs for all cost center owners, and maintaining the staff cost expense tracker for use in OpEx forecasting. - Identifying variances against plan and forecast, ensuring they are investigated, understood, and resolved where necessary. - Generating variance analysis reports, and leading efforts to develop robust financial performance modelling, including the enhancement of Anaplan (planning and forecasting tool). - Escalating any financial issues to management and other required stakeholders. - Setting and monitoring KPIs and business objectives, whilst helping to recommend and deploy strategies for improving underwriting results. - Developing MI and commentary for management by country, product, and function. - Supporting the business to understand the financial implications of their decisions, and drive both strategic and tactical thinking. - Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization. - Contributing to ad hoc financial projects as required as part of the overall finance function. Qualifications, Education & Experience: - A professional accounting qualification is required. - A minimum of 5 years experience of financial planning and analysis in an insurance organization in Latin America is required. Knowledge, Skills & Competences: - Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines. - Strong track record of managerial experience. - Ability to multitask and operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. - Experiencing using Anaplan or similar planning/forecasting model would be advantageous. - Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical skills. - Effective stakeholder management and business partnering skills to effectively execute plans and implement strategies. - Effective negotiation skills with the ability to find “win-win” solutions. - Self-starter, capable of working both independently and within a team environment. - Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to understand and ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls. - Good understanding of insurance industry and specific product portfolios to positively impact the underwriting business.
