Work Location Bogota Expected duration Initially for 6 months with a possibility of extension. **Responsibilities**: Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationships: This position is located within the Human Resources Unit of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC). The Human Resources Assistant will be based in Bogota and will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Recruitment team and the overall supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer. **Responsibilities**: Within delegated authority, the Individual Contractor will be responsible for the following duties: - Initiates and follows up on reference checks, in respect of academic verifications and employment records, ensuring completion of the pre-recruitment formalities. - Organizes files of national and international staff in SharePoint. - Assists in HR-related matters, including support in preparing documents for the recruitment of Consultants and Individual Contractors. These documents include Terms of Reference, PHP’s, Memo’s, Comparative Analysis and P-104 form. - Supports the administrative and logistics arrangements in preparation of Competency Based Interviews (CBI) and written assessments. - Follows up on new staff arriving at UNVMC to ensure all pre-onboarding tasks have been completed. - Assists with inductions and administrative arrangements for newly recruited staff, individual contractors and consultants, as well as staff coming to UNVMC on Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY). - Ensures that issued HR policy manuals, Staff Rules and Handbook, regulations, guidelines, SOPs and circulars, are complied with and informs the supervisor of any breach or irregularities in the selection process. - Provides assistance on Human Resources recruitment queries and follow up actions to ensure consistent and high-quality HR services are delivered to clients. - Assist to review recruitment memos, transmittal memos and routing slips from hiring managers. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent diploma is required. Training or certification in Human Resources or Administration is desirable. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in Human Resources or Administration related functions is required. Work experience in United Nations or international organizations is desirable. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English and Spanish (both oral and written) is required. Additional Information An interim performance evaluation is expected to be conducted at the end of the six months to ensure that the performance is being monitored appropriately.
