This initiative, carried out in conjunction with the Ministry of Environment and Water - MMAyA by its Spanish acronym - seeks to generate more efficient processes through vari-ous components to ensure more sustainable processes. The project, in general terms, focuses on five main aspects: - Platform - Solid Waste Management Information System (SIGIR by its Spanish acronym) - : Con-sidering that it is a platform for reporting, control and decision-making at the national level, the tool will be updated to a more accessible version and according to the needs. The process includes the development and programming of the different modules in their online and offline versions, as well as the conceptualization of the different graphic and operational components required. - Inclusion of both formal and informal recyclers and waste collectors in the comprehensive solid waste management system: The project will establish a strategy for their support and incorporation, which includes training processes to improve working conditions in at least five selected recycler associations - Establishment of replicable models for the management and closure of open dumps: This includes a general national characterization of existing facilities based on available information. Additionally, the models must include technical frameworks that allow for their replicability across the territory. - Development of a local solid waste management plan in a municipality with a population of at least 15,000 inhabitants. At this point, support will be provided to a local government for the develop-ment of the plan in accordance with the requirements established by national regulations and the MMAyA, which includes the technical, financial, and legal components for its structuring. - Establishment of a pilot project for the establishment of a suitable facility for solid waste manage-ment in a municipality with at least 15,000 inhabitants. This includes design, structuring, and im-plementation, as well as developing training mechanisms for its maintenance, operation, and man-agement. RESPONSIBILITIES a.)
