JOB SUMMARY Supports purchasing activities for the adequate operation of the plant, in accordance to assigned categories and Company procedures. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Maintaining an updated database of suppliers, and general information related to purchasing. Process purchase orders for assigned categories according to company procedure. Ensure all relevant information on fulfillment and delivery planning is maintained in company database. Identify and adjust differences in applicable Company IT system/database (e.g. EAM, SIC, BAAN) to promote an efficient and streamlined procurement process. Respond to internal customers and suppliers’ inquiries about order status, changes and/or cancellations. Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems. Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests. Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered. Provide strong customer service to internal and external customers. Carry out spot negotiations when required. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in international business, Finance or industrial engineering Minimum 3 years of experience supporting purchasing activities. Must live in Colombia Must have a C1 level of English Must have a U.S. tourist visa Salary based on experience.
