About the role As a Merchant Risk Strategist, you will manage the organization’s financial policies in the short and medium term, considering financial, accounting, economic, and regulatory factors influencing the business. Your main goal will be to ensure profitability and maximize shareholder value. You will oversee the budget, develop financial models, and create indicators to evaluate the profitability of various initiatives. What you will do Design, control, and monitor financial policies to achieve business objectives. Supervise processes for managing financial resources, ensuring alignment with corporate goals. Implement controls to monitor key financial KPIs and ensure they meet organizational targets. Develop financial models to support decision-making for ongoing and new ventures, focusing on profitability. Present financial data to the Board of Directors and Shareholders. Ensure accuracy and reasonableness of financial data in company statements. Prepare financial projections, track deviations, and propose corrective actions. Manage the company’s budget and ensure optimal resource allocation. Forecast economic resources, ensure compliance with budgets, and optimize profitability. Monitor budget deviations and suggest corrective initiatives. Analyze income, expenditure, and budget compliance within legal and tax frameworks. Assess the competitiveness of business lines, especially regarding market rates. Oversee third-party service contracts, ensuring adherence to agreements and rates. Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, including auditors, tax authorities, and others. What you need to succeed Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields; a specialization or master’s in Finance is preferred. 4-6 years of experience leading financial areas, especially FP&A, with expertise in financial, accounting, and tax processes. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization. Knowledge of programming languages like Python and VBA, especially for automating analyses and reporting. Experience in credit risk management is a plus.
