Apply for Job Job ID: 52122 Location: Columbia Full/Part Time: Full-Time Hiring Department The Saxena laboratory, recently relocated to the NextGen Precision Health, University of Missouri, Columbia, Job Description We are seeking postdoctoral candidates to work on projects focused on understanding neural circuits related to CNS-linked neurodegeneration, utilizing molecular and systems neuroscience techniques in an integrative and quantitative manner. Laboratory Profile The Saxena lab, now at the University of Missouri, bridges fundamental neuronal network mechanisms with disease pathology. Our research explores circuit mechanisms of disease, molecular correlates, activity-dependent synaptic proteomics, neuroinflammation, and cellular organelle crosstalk, employing in vivo imaging, electrophysiology, connectomics, optogenetics, and advanced analytical methods in awake-behaving models. Our lab benefits from a vibrant neuroscience community, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and collaborations across disciplines, aiming to connect research with clinical applications and innovative treatments. Qualifications Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in neuroscience or systems neuroscience by the start date. Evaluation criteria include creativity, communication skills, expertise in 2-photon calcium imaging, in vivo optical methods, electrophysiology (a plus), and a strong publication record. Anticipated Hiring Range Salary is based on NIH pay scale, with additional incentives including moving expenses.
