Call for papers WIDER Development Conference inpartnership with UNIANDES: Reducing inequality – the greatchallenge of our time The deadline for submissions is 31 March2022, 23:59 UTC+3 The WIDER Development Conference organized inpartnership with Universidad de los Andes (UNIANDES) will takeplace in Bogotá, Colombia, on 5-7 October 2022. The three-dayconference will bring together specialists from around the world todiscuss the latest research on inequality in a broad sense,including inequalities that affect individuals or population groupsacross many dimensions of wellbeing (income, labour marketoutcomes, education, health, etc.). The conference will provide aforum to discuss innovative, theoretical, and empirical researchand its policy take-aways. It will consist of plenary sessions, twokeynote speakers (Raquel Fernández, New York University, and ChicoFerreira, London School of Economics), and the WIDER Annual Lecture26, delivered by Daren Acemoğlu. UNU-WIDER seeks paper submissionsfor the 2022 WIDER Development Conference on reducing inequality. Paper submissions on the general topic of inequality and progresson SDG10 are welcome, including but not limited to those whichexplore trends, drivers, consequences in inequalities, methods,data, or policies, inequalities across various dimensions(earnings, income, education, health, subjective wellbeing, etc.),vertical and horizontal inequalities, global inequalities, andinequalities within countries, mainly in developing countries. Papers which explore the links between inequality and othersocioeconomic outcomes (conflict, migration, state capacity, etc.)or between inequality and climate change or COVID-19 are alsoencouraged. Interested applicants wishing to present originalresearch at the conference on the topics discussed above shouldcomplete the online application form.
