**Therapeutic Area Lead Gastroenterology** - English version_ **WHAT YOU WILL DO** The Therapeutic Area Lead is responsible for providing overall, strategic and managerial leadership for Medical Affairs within a specific Therapeutic Area (Gastroenterology). The position will contribute to the achievement of business success by putting the patient’s needs and safety into primary focus. It is also responsible to provide medical and scientific leadership both internally and externally, including responsibility of creation and execution of the medical/clinical strategy, leading and managing medical staff as needed, collaborating with external stakeholders as needed, and serving as a TA medical and scientific expert within the company to advise effectively and appropriately the country’s cross-functional teams. This position reports to the Medical Affairs Head and is based in Bogotá, Colombia. **WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON** - Develop and oversee all local Medical Affairs activities in the relevant Therapeutic Area(s) and subsequently ensure execution of medical plans. - Maintain a very high level of updated medical knowledge and understanding of the overall treatment and healthcare environment in the Therapeutic Area(s). - Leverage strong science to create compelling strategies for the Therapeutic Area (s) that fulfill un - met medical needs, support successful product registration, and increase availability of Takeda’s medicine to patients. - Represent the Therapeutic Area Medical Affairs to senior cross-functional leadership as well as external stakeholders. - Responsible for creating and executing the TA Medical Plan, aligned with both the Brand Plan and the Area / Regional / Global Medical Plan (where relevant). - Support Takeda’s speakers’ bureau through addressing educational needs of speakers’ bureau members and faculty. - Lead identification of educational opportunities that are aligned with Takeda’s medical education strategies and provides scientific support for continuous medical education (CMEs). - Contribute and provide medical review of promotional materials for scientific meetings, symposia and other Medical Education activities, in accordance with applicable Codes of Practice and regulations as well as Takeda policies, within defined timelines. - Participate proactively in all the activities defined according to the position and role, within the framework of the SG-SST Occupational Health and Safety Management System. **WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR** **Experience & Education**: - Medical professional (MD or equivalent). - 3-5 years of experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for high-cost brands in the pharmaceutical industry. - + 3 years of prior experience in a similar role. - Experience creating & executing strategic medical plans. - Managerial experience is required. - Deep understanding Local Health Care System. - Fluency in English and Spanish. **Competences & Skills**: - Excellent leadership, managerial, interpersonal and relationship building skill - Competencies Cross-functional collaboration skills - Able to drive consensus across diverse stakeholders - Highly innovative, Strategic thinker, able to drive multiple-simultaneous initiatives - Identifies scientific/business needs and addresses them in a proactive manner - Creates the environment that inspires and enables people to move the organization forward - Demonstrates strategic enterprise thinking to find innovative ways to serve patients, and build trust, reputation and business - Commitment to fostering an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment. **** **_ Versión Español_** **PROPOSITO DEL ROL** El Therapeutic Area Lead es responsable de brindar liderazgo estratégico y gerencial para el área de Asuntos Médicos dentro de un Área Terapéutica específica (Gastroenterología).
